The Hart Farms neighborhood is a premiere, family-oriented, residential neighborhood that is located on the southwestern portion of Rochester, Minnesota.  This popular modern, upper-middle class neighborhood boasts a touch of country-life in the big city.  In fact, as you look to the west of the neighborhood, it is hard to miss the peacefulness of the acres of farmland that border Hart Farms.  Then, to the north, Hart Farms is surrounded by the luxurious Fieldcrest neighborhood.  Next, 18th Avenue SW separates Hart Farms from the Bamber Ridge neighborhood on the eastside.  Lastly, to the south is 40th Street SW/County Road 117 SW roads that connect the neighborhood to main roadways that take us back into or further outside of Rochester.

The Hart Farms neighborhood is composed of single family homes that were built in the early 2000s to 2019.  These homes are modern, two-story, split level and ranch style houses with 4-5 spacious bedrooms, 2-4 baths and open floor plans throughout.  Generally, Hart Farms homes have grand foyers, vaulted ceilings, luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or hardwood flooring, paneled doors and natural light.  Kitchens are desirable with quartz and granite countertops, tiled backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a kitchen island and space for a formal dining area. Homes usually have a primary ensuite with a double-sink vanity, ceramic tiling and covetable walk-in closets.  Basements are generally finished with some sort of dry or wet bar, an added space for entertaining, a gas fireplace and usually 2 bedrooms. On the exterior, homes have variations of vinyl or steel siding and brick.  Next, garages are typically generous with 2-3-stalls and backyards have a patio and/or deck for entertaining.  Next, landscaping and trees are mature, lawns are well-kept and yards are often fenced.  Lastly, neighborhood roadways are quiet without major through streets and are full of cul-de-sacs and end streets.  

In general, Hart Farms neighborhood attracts upper middle class professionals with and without growing families. These modern homes are popular and the neighborhood is quiet, safe and conveniently located.  Current (2022) home prices for Hart Farms homes vary from $480,000 to $925,000 and are appreciating with current market trends.

Within the Hart Farms neighborhood, there is one park known as the Hart Farm Park.  This park consists of a children’s playground and a large, open playfield.  It is the perfect place for residents to fly a kite or play some touch football. 

Nearby Parks: Just outside and to the east of the Hart Farms neighborhood are 2 more parks:  Bamber Ridge Park and Greystone Park. Bamber Ridge Park has a playground, a basketball court and an open green space.  Greystone Park is an open green space with a playground.

The Hart Farms neighborhood is primarily a residential neighborhood; however, the neighborhood does have 1 daycare and several home-based businesses.

Since Hart Farms is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and farmland, there are few commercial businesses closeby.  The exception to this is Skyline Raceway and it is within walking distance. This entertainment business sits to the southwest of Hart Farms and offers outdoor go-kart racing, mini golf and gemstone panning.
